De Meleche & de Demoiselle Elizabeth de Carteret sa fem[m]e fut Batizé – Charles Dumaresq Gent l’un des Jurets de la Cour Royalle de cette Isle & James Corbet Gent Viconte furent ses parrains Et Delle Anne Sealle veve. de francois de Carteret Écuyer en son vivant lun des Jurats de ladite Cour fut sa marraine & luy donna le nom

On 19th January 1700 [i.e. 1700/01], George Bandinel son of George Bandinel, Esquire, Seigneur of Mélèches, and Mrs Elizabeth De Carteret his wife, was baptised – his godfathers being Charles Dumaresq, gentleman, one of the Jurats of the Royal Court of this Island and James Corbet, gentleman, Viscount; and Mrs Anne Seale, widow of Francis De Carteret, Esquire, formerly one of the Jurats of the said Court, was his godmother [and indeed grandmother] and gave him his name
