THE LATE MR. HERBERT HACKETT

Funeral at Wolverton

The funeral of Mr. Herbert Hackett, who died at his home, 236 Church Street, Wolverton, on 22nd October, took place at Wolverton Congregational Church on 26th October, and interment was in the Cemetery.

A retired coach-trimmer at the Wolverton Railway Works, Mr. Hackett was 78 years of age. He leaves a widow and two sons.

The Rev. A. J. Ansley conducted the funeral service, when the hymns “Jesu, Lover of my soul” and “The King of Love my Shepherd is” were sung. Family mourners were: Mrs. M. A. Hackett, Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Hackett and Mr. and Mrs. W. J. L. Hackett (sons and daughters-in-law), Mr. T. Hackett (nephew), and Miss D. Rose (niece). Many old workmates, friends, and neighbours were present.

Floral tributes were from: His loving wife; Laye and Bert (Oxford); Frances and Billie; Nell, Malvern Link; Doris and Jennie (Newport Pagnell); Connie, Tom, and Walter (Newport Pagnell; Annie and Oswald (Llanelly); Mr. and Mrs. F. Barton, and Geoffrey (Oxford); Mrs. Ruffhead, Maf, Albert, and Joan; Mr. and Mrs. A. Rainbow, and family; Neighbours, Church Street and Stratford Road; Jimmie and Alan; Little Ruth Patricia.

Messrs. A. W. Gurney and Son, Wolverton and New Bradwell, carried out the funeral arrangements.
