Died of a fit

An old resident of Laverton in the person of Mr G. H. Bray passed away somewhat suddenly last Saturday evening. Deceased who was subject to fits, long intervals occurring between them, was seized with one early on Thursday afternoon and remained under its influence for a good time. Dr Hill was in attendance and injected morphia, shortly after which the sufferer was removed to the local hospital. On the following day he had rallied and hopes were entertained that he would be about as usual in a short while. However, he took a change for the worse on Saturday and succumbed at about 5 o’clock on the evening of that day. The late Mr Bray, who had followed his profession as a solicitor in Laverton for several years, was 44 years of age. Previous to coming to Laverton he had resided at Malcolm and before that at Menzies. His mother [Rachel (Le Mesurier) Bray] lives in England and he has other relations in South Australia. The funeral took place on Sunday and was largely attended. The Rev. W. A. Lowth read the burial service and Mr J. Blethyn conducted the funeral arrangements.
